Are you in the process of going blonde? Then I know the perfect product for you!
Currently I am in the process of going fully blonde from dark brown. I have been getting blonde highlights every 8 weeks. I love it when I come out of the hairdressser and my hair is bright and blonde. Unfortunately it doesnt last long. The brightness begins to fade and my hair ends up looking a dull blonde colour with brassy tones. However I have found the secret to maintaing that bright bold blonde! Salon Exclusive Clynol shampoo!
Clynol shampoo is a dream come true. It takes away those brassy yellow colours and replaces them with bright blonde tones. It purifys and brightens hair giving you excellent shine and awesome colour. Clynol shampoo is quite expensive, but definately worth the money as it can last up to 4 months as it's only to be used once a week and left in for 1 to 3 minutes. It's a must have!

The Uncovered Truth Behind Hair Extensions
Over the years, many celebrities have been investing money into hair extensions to create bigger, fuller hair and now women across the world are following in their footsteps. Recent research shows that women in Britain spend over £65 million every year on hair extensions!
But, have you ever wondered where the human hair comes from?
The BBC did an investigation with the pop star Jamelia to discover the mystery behind the production of hair extensions. What they discovered was shocking. In India women and children and even men go to have their heads shaved as a last resort for money. The BBC and Jamelia watched in horror, as they went to an Indian Temple and watched a two year old girl have her head shaved. The little girl looked at her mother in sadness as tears rolled down her cheeks as her long thick hair hit the ground. Her mother too was also getting her head shaved. The mother said she needed the money or else all her belongings would be repossessed. Jamelia and the BBC also discovered that not all the Indian women and children knew their hair was being sold, a lot of them had been told to do it as a religious sacrifice. They were told by shaving their head, their prayers would be answered by God. Who has the right to take advantage of the uneducated like that and take away women and children's beauty which is extremely important in India for marriage prospects? Not only in India has selling hair become popular as a last resort, also in Russia many girls as young as 13 are selling their hair for money.
Recent studies also showed that some hair extensions were taken from corpses! Women could be wearing a dead person's hair! When the BBC interviewed a hair dealer, he would not comment on whether the hair he was buying and selling was from dead corpses. Why does this man have the right to take away one woman's beauty for another woman's vanity? The whole secret business is disgusting and women of the western world need to start opening their eyes instead of turning a blind eye to the truth behind hair extensions.

Poofy Powder
When it comes to hair, every woman wants big Cheryl Cole hair full of volume. These days there are many products to give your hair that va va voomph poof and bounce. A product that has been out on the high-street for a while now, but not really been spoken about, is volume hair powder. Hair powder is well....a powder that you place at the roots of your hair and then with your hands poof up your hair. The powder sticks and keeps the hair poofy and styled exactly how you want it. No Hairspray needed! It comes in little bottle which is perfect for carrying around in your handbag and when you feel your hair becoming flat just poof up your hair with your hands and the powder will react all over again! No need to top up! AMAZING!

A Wee Hair Tutorial
To begin this hairstyle, take the front section of your hair
and tease it with a comb. Brush the hair over and secure with Kirby clips.
Brush the rest of your hair until smooth and ready to curl.
The next step is to take thick pieces of your hair and curl
them. Then use your fingers to lightly brush through them for a softer look.
For extra volume, tease the top of your hair and brush over.
Then spray with hairspray to secure.
My Hair is Falling Out!!!!
Many women across the UK suffer from hair loss, not just elderly women but young women too. Hair loss can be due to many reasons such a stress, lack of vitamins, hair dye or sometimes a genuine medical reason. I personally have been suffering from hair loss lately and weak dry hair, but listen up ladies I have found cures!
To strengthen your hair, I recommend Elvive Tripple Resist hair shampoo and conditioner. I have been using this shampoo and conditioner for a number of weeks now and it leaves my hair feeling thicker, soft and shiny and has also reduced my hair loss making my hair stronger. The first time I used it, I noticed an immediate difference in my hair and now I live by it!
The next thing you need to keep your hair strong and prevent hair loss is Argan Oil. Argan Oil is the latest beauty craze and it works! You can buy it anywhere, even in Primark for £2.50!!! Argan Oil is amazing and you will feel an immediate difference as soon as you use it. It nourishes your hair and gives you a fantastic shine and softness. When it comes to buying Argan Oil, try to stay away from branded products as these are usually watered down. Try get as pure Argan Oil as you can as this will work the best.
A lot of the time, hair loss is down to a lack of vitamins and now many pharmacies have introduced vitamin tablets specifically for your hair. Hair vitamins can be bought from Holland and Barrets for £7.99.

How to Maintain your Mane
When styling your hair with heat, it is important to use heat protection and hair care products.
Today I will be suggesting some hair care products that will help you maintain healthy, shiny hair while styling and using heat. Hair care doesn’t just start in the shower, if you want healthy hair without split ends or a straw like feel; you must 'maintain your mane'!
Due to new technology and new discoveries, there are plenty of hair products to choose from. If you regularly dye your hair and want to learn how to style your hair with heat, then you will need a shampoo and conditioner which protects your colour and deeply conditions. You don't need to go wild on designer shampoo; the high street has some great options. From the high street I would recommend Aussie hair products. My hair is naturally dry and a little frizzy and Aussie hair products work wonders on my hair. They have a range of hair products to suit you such as "Take the Heat" and "Frizz Control". They also have a range of products to help you style your hair and protect your hair while doing it. One of my favourite Aussie hair products is the ‘Ausssome conditioning texturising spray’. Texturising spray is a must have when styling your hair as it gives your hair a little "voomph" which is brilliant when you're going for a plumped up volume look.
.
If you dye your hair often or
use a lot of heat then invest in a leave in conditioner to use once a week.
Leave in conditioners are designed to nourish your hair, protect your colour
and strengthen your hair. The leave in conditioner I currently use is Lo'real
Elvive Colour Protect. It leaves my hair soft, shiny and leaves my blonde
highlights glowing which is exactly what you want.
When it comes to styling your
hair and using heat, you definitely need a good heat protection spray. The most
popular heat protection spray on the market is VO5 heat protection spray. This
spray helps to protect your hair from turning dry and dull when using heat on
your hair. It keeps your hair looking shiny and gives it a smooth soft texture.

A little bit about me :)
Currently, I am in my second year of higher education at
Aberdeen College studying HND Media and Communication. At the end of my second
year, I will go in to the third year of University and achieve my Honours
Degree in Media and Communication. Education is very important to me as it
gives me the chance to expand my knowledge and intelligence. My course allows
me to be creative and use my communication skills to the best of my ability.
On the days I am not in college, I work as a Supervisor in
Primark LTD, in Aberdeen. Being promoted to a Supervisor at the age of
seventeen was a great achievement and gave me the chance to learn about
management skills, which will be an important asset to have in the future.
Well... a little bit about me personally. I'm a little wild
and have always had a natural instinct to rebel (this could be due to my mother
being my deputy head teacher throughout secondary school) I like to step
outside the box and be a little different. Not extreme...I'm not covered in
tattoos and piercings and dress like a clown... (Not that there's anything
wrong with that)...that's just not me. I'm just normal....well not completely
;)
I have many interests and hobbies which include: singing,
music, playing guitar, art, photography, style and fashion. However, the
purpose of this blog is to bring out another creative side of me which I've
never really put in the spotlight until now....
Gina’s Big Hair is going to be about how I get creative with
my hair. I have always had long hair down to my backside and about one year ago
I became interested in finding out how celebs, models etc, turn their hair in
to beautiful big waves and curls. I began watching tutorial videos on YouTube
and from each one I learned something new, whether it was about styling, care
for your hair, hair products etc.
What I aim to do in this blog is to tell you everything I
have learned and what I know about styling hair and achieving different looks
whether you have short, long or mid length hair. I'm not a hairdresser or a
professional hair stylist. I just want to show you how to get great volume and
great style without it having to take hours and hours. Some of my hair styles
take ten minutes! Once you have read this blog, you will have no excuse not to
do your hair in the morning!
Gina’s Big Hair will include: video tutorials, photos, hair
product reviews and many more tips and tricks!
